All of life marks the beginning of one phase and the closing down of another.
We anticipate the births and beginnings, the leavings, the deaths, the changes, the comings together and we worry. We imagine the worst scenarios of every transition for ourselves and those we love.
We could be planning instead for scenarios which address the worry element and mobilise our imagination into action. Worry thrives in rumination and dwindles with action and distraction.
We could also imagine what things could be like if they turned out well. How would we feel? In all probability things tend to work out somewhere in the middle of the two extremes. The gap between the worrier and problem solver and the optimist is remarkably small. Planning, action and distraction and an optimistic outlook can help.
