SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Update May 25

  1. IntroductionAtrium Clinic believes that our business can only succeed where we meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We firmly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals particularly those relating to the responsibility of business to manage currently available resources and to protect our natural environment from any adverse impacts as far as our service contracts allow.

Atrium Clinic commits to the UN 10 Principles, including these three which directly support our sustainability goals:

  • support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
  • undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
  • and encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
  • Our work in this area is overseen by Atrium’s Chief Executive Officer, supported by our managers and colleagues
  • Atrium Clinic must strive to conduct our operations consistent with these Goals and Principals at all links within our supply chain, in our facilities and through the lifecycle of our products.
  1. Statements of Commitment

Atrium is committed to establishing, promoting, maintaining and improving a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility by staff, and broader stakeholders.

  1. Atrium is committed to providing timely management review of sustainable business operating procedures and practices. We commit to track, measurement and report on our performance of the implementation of sustainability practices with a commitment of continual improvement in these areas. iii. As part of our larger commitment to sustainability in the operational and procedural practices of Atrium, we are also committed to providing the best, most sustainable products and services possible for our customers.
  2. Areas of Commitment .

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 10 Principles, we are committed to continuous improvements in our business in each of these core areas of sustainability:

  • Energy Efficiency: we are working to improve our energy efficiency in all areas of our offices which fall within our control.
  • Climate Change: we continue to work towards reducing our greenhouse gas emissions throughout our supply chain, including at our facilities, or where we have control and encouraging public transport to work when the situation allows.
  • Primary Resource Conservation: Atrium shall continue to identify alternatives to the use of primary materials in all areas of our raw material purchasing, as well as in water resources usage
  • Responsible Sourcing: we remain committed to ensuring that sourcing throughout our partner network remains environmentally and socially responsible.
  • Product Stewardship: we continue to innovate with our product design to best ensure that that our products are easily resource-recovered, and we minimise paper usage and a movement towards a zero-landfilling policy.
  • Toxics Reductions: we are striving to reduce our usage of toxics in both our operations and products when we are in control of our operational environment
  • Packaging / Plastics Elimination: we continue to seek the elimination of excessive usage of primary, convenience packaging, as well as our use of non-biodegradable forms of plastics.
  • Re-use –We commit to evaluate options to rebuild, restore equipment in the clinic including computer, tech and clinical resources.
  1. Partner Commitments

Our principle is that where national law and international sustainability-related legal standards differ, we will follow the higher standard; where they are in conflict, we will adhere to national law, while seeking ways to respect international sustainability goals to the greatest extent possible.

  1. In our business dealings we promote our sustainability commitments.

iii. We are also committed to a socially responsible partnership network and a socially responsible approach to our employees.

Iv.  Supply Chain and Partnership Approach.  We will only work with suppliers who implement and agree to abide by our terms and conditions, namely they must agree to ensure transparency, to remedy any shortcomings, and to drive continuous improvement.

  1. Meeting Our Commitments – Monitoring, Remedying & Reporting.

We are committed to monitoring our Partners’ adherence to this approach. We recognize that we must take steps to identify and raise any actual or potential adverse impacts with which we may be involved, whether directly or indirectly, through our own activities or our business relationships. We manage these risks by integrating the responses to our due diligence into internal systems, acting on the findings, tracking our actions, and communicating with our stakeholders about our concerns and how we can address impacts together.
